For the majority of cycling enthusiasts, only by finding the bicycle that suits them can they enjoy a comfortable riding experience. Choosing the correct size is the most important decision we have to make before buying a bicycle. So, what size mountain bike should you ride?
1. Frame size selection
There are two things to look out for when choosing a frame size, the size of the handlebars and the handlebar to crotch clearance when standing.
-An oversized frame may cause the following accidents:
1) Back pain caused by long-time cycling due to excessive stretching;
2) When standing, because there is not enough space, the private parts of the rider will be touched, causing unbearable pain;
3) The bicycle will become difficult to control;
-A frame that is too small may cause the following accidents:
1) A frame that is too small will make your legs unable to stretch out, and it will be easy to get injured when riding for a long time;
2) The distance between the crotch and the frame is too large when standing up, which will cause back injuries during long-term riding;
So, how do you know what size frame you need? There is actually no right answer to this question. Because as long as it is within a reasonable range, you can freely adjust the seat cushion, stem, and handlebar to make the bicycle that is not completely suitable for you and adjust it to a good riding experience.

2. There needs to be a certain distance between the seat tube and the crotch
When you stand up, the seat tube should have a decent amount of clearance from your crotch. To do this, you need to sit as far back as possible while riding the bike, making sure there is at least an inch of space between the top tube and your crotch. The point of this step is to give the frame a wide range of adjustments, which is important for finding the right saddle height.
Tilt the saddle up or down so that your pelvis is level when riding in the saddle so you don’t slide forward or backward while riding.
3.The length range of the upper tube
Another very important factor when shopping for a mountain bike is the length of the top tube. From the saddle to the top tube to the handlebars, the length of the top tube determines the comfort of the body when riding and the speed of riding the bike. Finding your ideal top tube length is done by measuring your torso length and arm length. The specific operation is as follows:
1) Stand up with your back to the wall
2) Distance from the knuckle to the clavicle.
3) Measure from your pubic bone to the hollow at the base of your neck.
4) Add the results and divide by 2, then add 4 to the resulting number and you have the ideal length for your jacking pipe.
(Assuming your arm length is 24 and your torso length is 26, (24+26)/2=25, 25+4=and 29, and 29 is the length of your top tube.)
4. Other adjustments
In addition to the size of the frame, other parts of the bicycle also need to be placed in the most suitable size for you, such as handlebars, pedals, and shifters.
